The judges gave us fantastic comments on all three areas i.e. horticulture, environment and community. The only negative comments made on the marking sheets were firstly that the lime trees should have been properly trimmed but this was not in our remit, as they have a preservation order on them, so therefore we are not allowed to touch them. Secondly they would have liked to see more children involved. They were most impressed with Noah's bed at the hospital.

The group would especially like to thank all the businesses and individuals who sponsor us financially, as without these we would not have been able to continue. Furthermore we would like to thank every individual in the town who supports and praises our work, as it motivates us to continue. Big thanks too to our hard working council worker Stephen Huxtable and best wishes from all the group for good health now that he has recently returned to work. We will do our best to continue on next year and would welcome not only any financial support but new members who like to garden.

It was also fantastic how businesses and community groups went in for other awards from the RHS and did so well:

  • Community Garden ..Level 5 Outstanding
  • Sheep Fair Field ..Level 4 Thriving
  • Squires Court ..Gold
  • Eastleigh Care Homes ( East St and Raleigh Mead).. Silver Gilt
  • Coaching Inn ..Silver Gilt
  • Town Arms ..Bronze
